All About Me!

I come from a family of four. My mom, my dad, and my sister Allie. Allie is two years older than me, and she is currently a sophomore. My mom just finished battling cancer, and I'm so proud of her for how strong she has been. My dad has a great sense of humor, and is a fan of the Green Bay Packers. I get along really well with my sister, I wouldn't trade her for anyone else. She is kind of shy if she doesn't know you, but actually is quite crazy. But I love her, as well as the rest of my family.

My mom's side of the family is rather large. She has nine other siblings; six brothers and three sisters. Because of this, I have many cousins. I believe I have nineteen first cousins, but don't hold me to it. On the other hand, my dad was an only child so I don't have any cousins from his side. Nonetheless I love everyone in my family very much.

If you don't know me, I should let you know about school. I am very dedicated to it, and it is very important to me. It isn't necessarily my favorite thing in the world, but I still put forth my best effort and tend to produce high quality work. Some people call me a nerd, which to some extent is true. As far as the level of smartness and effort, sure I could be a nerd. I wish more people would care about school, but there's not much I can do about that.

My favorite class last year was either Art or Creative Writing. I got over 100% in Art, and exactly 100 in Creative Writing. I just love writing so much, it's probably one of my favorite hobbies. I have wrote multiple stories, which not many people take the time to read. Apparently 15 pages is too long...But art is one of my favorite things in school as well. I just like the way you can take each assignment how you want it, with less strict of guidelines as other classes. I do excel in art, which probably contributes to why I like it. But it is fun to create something with no wrong answer. Essentially, writing and art are two of my favorite things to do in school.

Though school is very important, it isn't the only thing I ever do. I also participated in Science Olympiad last year, and am hoping to make the team again this year. But I also play softball, basketball, volleyball, and track. My favorite is softball, my positions are catcher and shortstop. I can't choose one over another, I like different things about both. In basketball, I don't really have a position. As long as I'm not a post player, I'll be fine. We haven't decided on our positions yet in volleyball, that doesn't happen until high school. In track I run the 100 Meter Dash, 100 Meter Hurdles, and the 100 Meter Relay. Last year at conference I got 1st in the 100 Meter Dash, 2nd in hurdles, and 1st in our relay.

I told you a little bit about basketball, but my team is very intense. In 5th grade we won state, 6th grade we took 3rd, and in 7th grade we took 2nd. We were all very disappointed with ourselves when we didn't win, so that says a little bit about my team. Most teams would be ecstatic if they took 2nd or 3rd, but not us. We were all devastated and in tears. This year one of our best players decided not to play with us anymore. So we have basically redesigned our team to function differently. We're extremely determined to win again this year, especially because next year we might all be on different teams. That's basically my basketball team put into words.

On a different note, I also love artsy things like writing, drawing, and music. Writing is literally so amazing, it is a fabulous escape from reality when it is becomes less than enjoyable. Drawing is fun as well, though I'm not extremely good at it. I like doing cartoon things versus realistic because it often turns out better. As far as music, I play the flute. I made capital conference honors band, which I'm pretty proud of. I also enjoy listening to music, especially my favorite band One Direction. Other than them, I'm not really into the whole pop genre. I prefer country music, though lots of people think I'm crazy.

Of course I like to do other things as well. But I'd probably bore you to death if I went into every single little thing I do in my free time. So that's just a little bit about what I like to do!
