Converting Decimals 2 Fractions
By Los Pollos Hermanos
Step 1
First you have to find the placement that your decimal is in.
Ex. .12 = hundredths
Ex. .1 = tenths
Step 2
You put either 10, 100, 1000 and so on for your denominator but it depends on the place value of the decimal.
Ex.1 - .8 = 8/10
Ex.2 - .80 = 80/100
Ex.3 - .835 = 835/1000
Step 3
Then simplify the numerator and denominator by the Greatest Common Factor.
Ex.1 - 8 / 2 = 4
10 / 2 = 5
so the simplified answer is 4/5
