N-CHS takes home the High School Regional Tournament Spirit and Participation Award!!
This year the Newton-Conover High School Science Olympiad team was awarded the High School Regional Tournament Spirit and Participation Award due to our students' exceptional behavior, polite manners, and helpful nature. All of the event leaders for the regional tournament come together to determine who takes home this honorable award. Many of the event leaders had made comments about how polite and enthusiastic the N-CHS students were during their events. In addition, our students stayed behind to help clean up two of the lab-based events after all of the other high school left quickly after they were finished competing. The Science Olympiad advisors are very proud of our students' helpful and enthusiastic spirit that they brought to the Regional Tournament. Congratulations again to the N-CHS Science Olympiad Team!
We're headed to the State Science Olympiad Tournament!!
Students who placed 1st overall in their individual events have the opportunity to compete at the State Science Olympiad Tournament at NC State University on April 22nd and 23rd of this year! Unfortunately, our team did not place high enough to attend as a group, but Henry Cox, William Gaither, and Audrey Vang have the opportunity to attend the State Tournament, in their respective events, as they placed 1st above all of the high school varsity and junior varsity teams. Another huge congratulations to these students as they move on to represent our school at the state-level competition!
