What is happening in RM 16?
Week of September 12th
Focus Skill: Ask Questions/Identify Main Idea and Details
We will not be doing reading groups this week. I will be doing individual reading assessments and will not be able to guide my groups.
Writing:
We have published our personal narratives! :) We will also be working on some writing assessments this week.
Spelling:
Their spelling list (bright orange this week) can be found in their binders. Please note that it is important to focus on the patterns in their words and not necessarily the memorization of the words. They need to be able to apply what they learn to their writing too.
We will not have spelling tests. I will be looking for the application of their words in their everyday writing.
Math:
On Monday, we will review unit 1 and I will offer HW pages from every lesson in case they want more practice before our test on Tuesday. On Tuesday, in addition to taking a post-test for U1, we will take a pre-test for U2. We will graph the results and they will keep them in their binder behind the teal cardstock divider.
We will test over this unit Tuesday, Sept 12th.
I post links on our Google Classroom that will help reinforce these skills at home :). Your child should know how to log on.
