In an effort to provide all parents with the opportunity to meet with all of their child's teachers, conference times will be limited to 3-5 minutes per conference. Please feel free to email us with any feedback that you may have with suggestions on how we can make upcoming conferences more efficient
PTO News
Faculty Appreciation Dinner
On Monday, November 6th the PTO will be hosting a dinner for Faculty prior to Parent/Teacher Evening Conferences. The PTO is asking for donations for that evening of desserts and various items. Please click on the following link to view items being requested and additional information:
FBLA-Important Information
The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Club will be limiting its membership to 150 students this year. All students interested must submit the FBLA membership form and club dues of $20 to Ms. Galaro or Ms. Hunte no later than November 30th. Please note that space will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so once the maximum membership is reached, no further membership forms will be accepted even if students try to submit prior to the November 30th deadline. VIKING ATHLETIC CLUB – 5K AND 1 MILE FUN RUN- Sunday - November 5th RAIN OR SHINE!

- Kiddie Run to follow at 11 AM
ICE HOCKEY AND SWIM TRYOUTS - MONDAY NOVEMBER 5th.
Tryouts begin Monday for Ice Hockey and the Swim Team. Also, we have half days of school. On all half days, athletes have the opportunity to stay in the Freshman Cafeteria until a 2:30 when the tryouts begin. Please advise your child accordingly.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT COURSES- Pay to Participate
Please be advised that students in Advanced Placement courses MUST pay a $50.00 registration fee per course to meet the Pay to Participate requirement. The period for registration is October 15, 2017 – November 15, 2017. The registration fee is applied to the cost of Advanced Placement course materials and training for teachers. Keep in mind that the $50.00 course registration fee is separate from the AP Exam Ordering fee.
To complete the registration requirement for an Advanced Placement course, please log onto the South Brunswick High School Website. Under “Quick Links,” please select the “Pay to Participate Registration Information.” Select “ONLINE PAYMENTS - Click Here to register for all Pay to Participate and Community Education Programs.” (Instructions for online payments are available below this link on the website.)

Class of 2019 selling pies!
Support the Class of 2019 and buy a farm-fresh pie from Griggstown Farms! There are sweet fruit pies, savory pot pies, and Shephard's pie (new for Fall). Your student can even win a chance to hand deliver a specialty cream pie to a teacher - in their face! - at the winter pep rally! Every pie your student sells, or buys, will earn them twenty tickets in our "special delivery" raffle. Orders need to be returned by November 8th. Craft Show/Used Clothing Drive - November 25, 2017-Volunteers needed
SBHS 13th Annual Project Graduation Craft Show and Used Clothing Drive will be held on Saturday, November 25th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This event will have something for everyone: pet items, handmade jewelry, clothing, personal items, gifts for children, home décor, sports memorabilia, holiday items, greeting cards, knitted items and more. In addition for the first time we will have 2 food trucks- the world famous Empanada Guy and Nikki's DAWGS! There will also be breakfast items along with refreshments available for purchase. ALL proceeds benefit the Class of 2018 Project Graduation Event that will be held on graduation night. We are seeking student and parent volunteers for the Craft Show. If you are interested in volunteering, please email sbhsprojectgraduation@gmail.com. If you are interested in signing up as a crafter or vendor? The Used Clothing Drive will be held on the same day – we will be collecting wearable and usable clothing for men, women & children, shoes, belts and bags, linens and soft toys. The drop off location is outside the gym entrance only. Project Graduation will receive a donation for the total poundage that is collected. Please put all items in well tied garbage bags.

All club information is being updated as it is received, with most clubs starting to meet late September/Early October
Club Reminder-Pay to Participate Information
The club participation fee is $25.00. Students should not pay to participate until they are absolutely certain they will be joining the club. Please attend AT LEAST one meeting AND confirm that there are no scheduling conflicts with the clubs you are interested in. All students must go through the Pay to Participate process even if they have met the family maximum or are exempt from paying because they qualify for the free or reduced lunch program. Payments are not transferable, refundable or retroactive. Once a payment is made, PRINT A RECEIPT for your records AND to submit to your advisors.
Club Advsiors will be verifying club payment in January. Students who fail to submit payment receipts will not be permitted to continue to attend or participate and the activity will not be recorded on their transcript. Viking Closet
Viking Closet has all your back to school needs. This year we started collecting personal hygiene items, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, brushes, deodorant, tooth "picks", hair bands, etc. The Closet is open in C300 during lunches or hap & everything is FREE!
Quill Club
Quill club will be selling Books and DVDs on November 6th during the evening session of Parent-Teacher conferences in the Alcove. Please support this worthy cause.
Frisbee Fest
On November 14th at 2:30pm an Ultimate Frisbee Tournament will be held in the Main Gym --Come cheer on the teams!
Powderpuff
Mark your calendars for Powder Puff on November 18th (Alternate November 16th). Game starts at 6:00PM, tickets are $5 at the gate. See you there!

The Actives Office has a limited number of Class of 2021 Shirts Available for purchase. Please have your child stop down during their lunch to purchase one. Shirts are $10.

11th Grade Info
Junior year is a very exciting time for our students but can be very costly. Our Junior Prom is planned for May 19th at the Ellora. Over the past few years the cost per student for Junior Prom has been approximately $95, with payment due in March. Now is a great time to start planning and budgeting for this memorable event.

The Actives Office has a limited number of Class of 2019 Shirts Available for purchase. Please have your child stop down during their lunch to purchase one. We have two styles available a short sleeved for $10 and a long sleeved for $15.
12th Grade Info

Over the past few years the cost per student for Senior Prom has been approximately $120 the past few years, with payment due in April. Now is a great time to start planning and budgeting for this memorable event.
PTO News
SBHS PTO Shoe Drive-Remember to drop shoes off during Parent/Teacher Conferences
The PTO is collecting gently worn, used and new shoes.Not only do you help us but the shoes are then used to help start micro-enterprises in developing nations like Haiti. It’s a double donation!
Collection bins are located in the High School front entrance and gym as well as the South Brunswick Public Library across from their cafe. Collection ends December 31st. Please spread the word!
PTO Membership dues are $15 per family. Membership allows your child to be eligible for a $500 PTO scholarship their Senior year. To be eligible you have to be a paid PTO member by December 31st of each of the years your child attended SBHS.
