KHOBA Scholarship due Monday, May 4th
Auditions for next year's orchestra placements will be due Friday, May 1st (today!)
All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors need to audition, even if you aren't planning to take orchestra next year.
Seniors don't need to audition at all.
This google link is also on Canvas and the audition material is on Canvas and khsorchestras.org
Access to the orchestra room is NEXT week on Monday, May 4th and Wednesday, May 6th! Uniform return, pick up instrument, return school instruments, get your stuff out of your locker
If you need access to the orchestra room for any reason, we have access next Monday May 4th or Wednesday May 6th. You have to sign up on the sign up genius below to sign up for a time. This is ONLY for access to the orchestra room. If you need to get something from a different part of the building, you have to make an appointment with that teacher.
Please enter the outside orchestra door by the band loading dock. You can't walk through the building.

Here's the guidelines we all have to use in the building:
ALL STAFF MUST HAVE A MASK AND GLOVES
ALL STUDENTS ENTERING THE BUILDING MUST HAVE A MASK/FACE COVERING (students are not required to wear gloves)….students only are allowed inside….no parents or siblings…make this clear before they get to school….
1. Staff must wear a mask/face covering.
2. Staff must check in at the front entrance. A record of which students enter the building and which day must be maintained by each coach/director/sponsor.
3. All students entering the building must wear a mask/face covering.
4. Parents may not enter the building to return or pick up items.
5. Students need to be scheduled so that no more than 10 students are in an area at a time.
6. Social distancing needs to be maintained. Custodians will have blue painters tape to mark distances in areas students will be waiting.
7. Staff needs to avoid touching/handling any items that students return for a minimum of five days. Custodians will have trash bags to place items.
8. If students are going to need supplies (scissors or such) to clean lockers or other areas they must bring their own….you should not have the touch any of your personal items…
If students are unable to come up during their assigned times, or if parents do not want to let their children to come to the school, we will consider alternate times at a later date.
ALL SOCIAL DISTANCING MUST BE ADHERED TO…
Senior Spotlight and senior yard signs!
KHOBA has purchased a yard sign for each of our orchestra seniors! If you're a senior and don't have your sign yet, please email Ms. Lawrence so she can deliver the sign to your house (socially distant, of course!). Ms. Lawrence can take a picture, or you can email a picture to her.
Congrats to all of our seniors!
Assignments on Canvas
Some students are missing assignments. Please get these done ASAP. Everything is in Canvas (nothing is in Charms now). Some students haven't completed anything for the final 6 weeks. Please catch up so you don't have an incomplete for the last grading period. I can't just "fill in" grades if you haven't done any work.
Some orchestra goals:
Work on your audition music a little bit each day. Auditions are due May 1st!
Learn a new piece of music that you've always wanted to learn. If you need me to scan you music, let me know! Fiddle, pop, movie music, video game music?
Open up your instrument case once a day! Play some music every day. You probably have the time and a little time away from your phone or computer is probably a good thing for you!
I'm looking forward to having you all back in the orchestra room for orchestra rehearsal in the fall! I miss all of you!
April 3rd and 4th trip refunds?
If we can't get a refund, we might try to reschedule the trip for later in the summer. I'll keep you posted!
