Burton's Blog:

Empower Each

Guess what season it is...

Let’s play a game of word association. I will give you a list of items and I want you to think of the first thing that comes to mind.

Warm apple cider. Wearing plaid clothing. Lighting candles. Friday Night Lights. Picking out the perfect pumpkin. Getting cozy by a fire pit. Eating a bowl of chili with all the fixings.

If your answer was something along the lines of Fall or Autumn things, you were on the right track, but after the year that we have just had, I was thinking about a different type of season: Harvest Season to be exact.

Harvest Season is a time in the year that families come together and celebrate all of the good things that have happened throughout the past year. It is a time to count the blessings we have received and to be proud of the obstacles that we have overcome. And here at Princeton, this is what we are doing. The theme for this year is “Our Community is Our Campus.” It is safe to say that we have had some challenges to conquer during our 2020-2021 school year, but we are ready to reap the benefits of our hard work and perseverance.

And we have had some wonderful things to celebrate this season, such as the High School Mural Amphitheater Dedication, our second Business and Community Partnership Breakfast with Mr. Phil Castellini, COO of the Cincinnati Reds, and the banquet for the 2021 Athletic Hall of Fame.

We are going to REACH our goals together. As a community. So I want to invite you to stay tuned for our upcoming State of the Schools address in Matthews Auditorium in Viking Village, where you will hear about these events and the ways that they are helping us to meet the goals of our Strategic Plan. In the meantime, pull out that scarf, sip on a warm latte, and find new ways to connect with our Viking community.
