New Fall Initiative
We will be slowly converting to student owned technology as we continue to move forward and advance our learners with 21st century skills. I did have a meeting about technology this week and will send additional information. There are many, many progressive schools that are beginning to do this. There will be tech available at school for the new year. We are strongly encouraging 5th and 6th to begin to purchase their own Chromebooks. Mr. Burns did recommend the following specs if you decide to buy now:
8GB memory, high def screen 1080 dpi, 32 GB storage, 13" is a good size.
There will be sales over the summer and in the fall. We will also offer the used Chromebooks with warranty for this year. We will have a google form if you would like to buy the used Chromebook from us. You do not need to buy this immediately. We will gradually phase into this new initiative. I will have a separate email with all of the details. Thank you.

EXCITING PLANS
- We will have an official music room.
- Music will now include all of the upper grades through grade 8.
- We will be expanding our band program. Mr. Schmauk has received many instrument donations for our school.
- We will be combining science and stem into one lab. Every science teacher will visit the lab once per week for a hands-on lesson.

WHEN THIS IS OVER
When this is over,
may we never again take for granted
a handshake with a stranger
conversations with neighbors
a crowded theater
Friday night out
the taste of Communion
a routine checkup
the school rush each morning
coffee with a friend
the stadium roaring
each deep breath
a boring Tuesday
life itself.
When this ends,
may we find that we have become
more like the people we wanted to be,
we were called to be,
we hoped to be.
And may we stay that way – better for each other because of the worst.
