CKS STUDENTS WALK IN OTHERS' SHOES!
Recently in some of Mr. Turner's PE classes, students got a taste of what it's like to deal with a disability. Our students had to face many challenges, from being blindfolded through obstacle courses, to playing a simulation of wheelchair basketball. The result is that they have an appreciation of how difficult it is for students with disabilities to be physically active.
BONUS OUT-OF-UNIFORM DAY!
Many thanks to our parents, who rocked it out by returning the Title 1 family survey forms! We made a huge improvement from last year's 25% to this year's 85%. As a reward, all students get an out-of-uniform day on Mon May 9th!
Mrs. Hall can still accept forms from those of you who still need to turn them in. Thanks so much!
ELECTRONICS RECYCLING
Electronics Recycling Collection
May 2-16
Don’t throw away your old and/or broken electronics! Instead, recycle them! CKS, in cooperation with Ross and Ross Holdings LLC, is conducting its second annual electronics recycling collection drive. At school, we will be collecting items such as computers, laptops, hard drives, printers, cell phones, keyboards, mice, modems, DVD and VCR players, televisions, chargers, and any other electronic devices. Please place these in the hallway between the school gym and Hehman Hall.
Large items, such as microwaves, refrigerators, freezers, stoves, air conditioners and water heaters, can be donated, too. These can be picked up directly from your home. Please call 859-948-1906 to schedule a pick up. Be sure to mention that you are donating on behalf of Christ the King School.
