Premier Update
The Inglewood Premiers team is continuing to gel and has enjoyed some strong performances in the past two weeks.
On Good Friday at Sanders Park, a convincing second half effort saw them come back from 17-5 down at half-time to score 28 unanswered points to beat Tukapa 33-17. The following week they narrowly went down to Spotswood United 30-27 in a tight battle at Yarrow Stadium.
With four games at home and a number of injured and returning players back for the second round, the team is in good shape and building nicely for a solid crack at the play-offs.
Make sure you get on down to TET Stadium and cheer our lads home to a top-four finish.
Div 1/Senior B Update
An update for the Senior B’s/Division 1 team must start with some terribly sad news. Steven McIver, our leader on and off the field, has been sidelined since his heroic 80metre solo try vs Clifton and likely for most of the season.
Whilst there is much debate over how he got the injury, the vast majority believe it to be from him re-enacting his try.
The team has since had a loss to Stratford, an enjoyable win of Tukapa and a tough fought last 5min loss to Spotswood.
The team has also been riddled with injuries and players unavailable, 13 for the Spotswood game which has made fielding a consistent team a challenge but the guys have been building well and are in for a solid season ahead.

Netball Update
On the netball front, our club is looking strong with 7 teams again entered in a range of competitions this year.
Our Premier 1 team have had a win and loss and our Premier 2 have come away with 2 win’s on their first two game.
Our 5 satellite teams begin their competition play this week, with two teams entered in the Stratford Social league played at the TET Stadium in Stratford on a Monday night, and 3 teams entered in the New Plymouth Satellite competition played at Waiwhakaiho Courts on a Saturday.
All our teams this year are looking flash in our new netball club hoodies and warm up tees that display the teams sponsor. We have a number of new players within our club, many of these are young players eager to get on court.
We are also excited to have our local top Inglewood High School netball team making the move up to Premier 3 this year, ensuring a clear pathway of progression from the school to club for many of our younger players. Look out for each weeks fixtures which will be posted to our Facebook page and make sure you get along and support our teams where you can. Entry for supporters to Premier games is $5 and free entry to any of the satellite games.. We are excited for another strong year of netball in Inglewood!
