Online Resources

During library skills classes this year, students in 4th and 5th grade were shown our new e-book collection. This was our first year showing this to students and our collection has started small. We plan to add more books and share it with all students and staff during the 2013-2014 school year.

All elementary schools in the district share a virtual shelf of electronic books using Follett Shelf. Students can find the link on the library webpage and log in with their username and password. They can then read books on the computer through their Internet browser. There is also an option to read books as a guest, which does not require login information.

Follett has also created an app (Follett Digital Reader) that is available in the iTunes store. It is FREE. If you download the app, you will need the code to access our district elementary shelf as well as a username and password.

In addition to our e-book collection, we have a subscription to Tumblebooks through CESA 10. Many teachers use Tumblebooks in the classroom so your child may be familiar with the program. Tumblebooks is an online program that engages students through storybooks, readalongs, games, and more!

Read, read, read!

Book Swaps

This summer, Stillson, Southview, and Hillcrest have partnered with Parents4Learning to collect books for a book swap with our students. Throughout the summer, students are invited to attend any of the scheduled swap days/times to exchange one of their books. We are excited to offer this new program that helps prevent summer reading loss and provides our students with access to new reading material over the summer.
