Ventana Vistas-Family Connection
July 30, 2020
Hello from Mrs. Mulay
Hello to all of our Ventana Vista families new and returning! By now you are aware that school will begin remotely for all students on August 17th. I have included a little bit of information below to help you prepare for the school year.
You will receive the bulk of "back to school" information including the Remote Learning Handbook between August 7th and August 10th via email.
Teacher Assignments
You will receive this information by email between August 7th and August 10th.
We do not make teacher assignment changes, so please do not ask.
Meet the Teacher Day
On August 14th you will have a scheduled virtual meeting for your child to meet the teacher.
Your child's teacher will email you this information on or before August 10th.
School Supplies
Although we are not starting in person, teachers are assuming your children will have the requested supplies prepared for their learning at home. You can find the supply list for each grade level here.
If you ordered an EduKit to be delivered to the school, you will pick this up at the laptop distribution dates TBA.
REMIND--our primary method of communication
All VV Families need to have a REMIND account. You can get the app for your phone at the app store or get your messages via text or email.
Watch this tutorial here.
Your teacher will let you know what the REMIND code is for his/her classroom. You should also follow Ventana Vista Elementary for whole school communication. We send out a newsletter weekly on Wednesdays via REMIND.
Chrome Book Check Out
You will receive information about Chrome Book check out soon--as soon as it is available.
Kinder Plus
If you are paying for Kindergarten Plus, your child will have remote instruction in English from the K+ teacher daily, in addition to the Spanish instruction from the Kindergarten teacher.
This also holds your full day spot for when we return to in person school.
If your child has no where else to go during remote learning...
CFSD is working out a plan to provide an option for families who are working and have no where to take their children while schools are closed. Stay tuned for more information.
