Fort Sumpter
The battle of Fort Sumpter began on April 12, 1861. There were 80 Union soldiers and 500 Confederate soldiers involved in the battle. None of the soldiers were killed, injured or missing. Both sides were left unharmed at the end of this battle. This battle ended on April 13, 1861. It only lasted a day and no one was killed, injured or missing.

Battle of Antietam
The battle of Antietam started on September 16, 1862. The Union attacked the Confederate. There were 87,000 Union soldiers and 45,000 Confederate soldiers. 2,108 Union soldiers were killed while 1,546 Confederate soldiers were killed. There were 9,540 Union soldiers that were wounded. There were also 7,752 Confederate soldiers wounded. 753 Union soldiers went missing and 1,018 Confederate soldiers went missing. The battle of Antietam ended on September 18, 1862.

Battle of Vicksburg
The battle of Vicksburg began on May 18, 1863. There were 77,000 Union soldiers and 33,000 Confederate soldiers involved in the battle. 806 Union soldiers were killed and 805 Confederate soldiers were killed. There were 3,940 Union soldiers wounded in battle. 1,938 Confederate soldiers were also wounded. Only 164 Union soldiers went missing while 28,620 Confederate soldiers went missing. This battle ended on July 4, 1863.

Battle of Gettysburg
The battle of Gettysburg began on July 1, 1863. There were 93,921 Union soldiers and 71,699 Confederate soldiers involved in this battle. 3,155 Union soldiers were killed and 3,903 Confederate soldiers were killed. 14,529 Union soldiers were injured. 18,735 Confederate soldiers injured. 5,365 Union soldiers went missing while 5,425 Confederate soldier went missing. This battle ended on July 3, 1863. It only lasted for 2 days.

Sherman’s March to the Sea
Sherman’s March to the Sea began November 15, 1864. General William T. Sherman led 60,000 soldiers on a march. This march was 285-miles long. They marched from Atlanta, Georgia to Savannah, Georgia. These were Confederate soldiers attacking the Union. General William T. Sherman’s march ended on December 21, 1864.

Battle of Fort Fisher
The Battle of Fort Fisher began on january 13, 1865. There were 9,341 Union soldiers and 1,900 Confederate soldiers involved in this battle. There were 1,341 Union causalities while the Confederate army only had 583 casualties. A casualty is when a soldier is killed, injured or goes missing. The Union celebrated their victory on January 15, 1865.

Appomattox Court House
The Appomattox Court House battle began on April 9, 1865. There were 63,285 Union soldiers and 6,000 Confederate soldiers involved in this battle. The casualties for the Confederate army are unknown. The Union soldiers suffered 14 soldiers killed, 74 soldiers injured and 64 soldiers went missing. This battle ended on the same day it began, April 9, 1865.
