Joint Statement of Support
from Glennwood, PTA and School Leadership Team
Hello Glennwood Families!
In light of recent racially-motivated attacks on Asian Americans, we again condemn this violence and hate and acknowledge and support our Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) community. These recent crimes have further traumatized the AAPI community, which has been the victim of an increasing number of hate crimes in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
At Glennwood, we will continue to celebrate and appreciate the diversity of our school body and of our community. We will continue to work toward racial equity for all. As a community, we at Glennwood are responsible for acknowledging that anti-Asian prejudice is one malignant form of systematic racism that continues to plague our nation and we shall act accordingly to dismantle such outcomes. We pledge to remain vigilant regarding the many ways that anti-Asian prejudice and bias affect us and to continue working as a school community to identify effective and actionable ways to address this and all forms of prejudice, stigmatization, xenophobia, and racism.
