Oct 11 Last Evening for Parent Teacher Conferences
Sign-up Click Here (Last Opportunity to Sign-Up)
Parents: If this is your first student to go through middle school or you are new to Edmond- please know that parent/teacher conferences are a little different in comparison to elementary. These conferences are not mandatory. We will have some teachers that need to connect with specific parents - and - we will have some parents that need to connect with specific teachers. However, there will be many parents who may not have specific questions or concerns and elect not to participate at this time. That is certainly ok as well. Please know that you may contact teachers at any time. Please remember that each teacher at Cheyenne has approximately 150 students.
Kona Ice Wednesday at Lunches
We need subs desperately. There are many days each week we have to cover up to 6 classes in a day. This means teachers lose their plan time. You can choose just to sub at Cheyenne!
Please Remind Your Child About Their Student IDs
EVERY student has been issued a Student ID Badge. Per the District Policy, this MUST be worn EVERY day with the district-issued lanyard and the picture must face out. 6th graders are maroon, 7th grade green, and 8th grade blue.
If your student does not have their badge they will need to print a temporary badge for the day as they enter the school. We have three kiosks.
It is VERY important that the student remember their badge each and every day. A temporary badge should only be needed on a rare occasion not for everyday use.
If your student has lost their badge please have them come into the office with $5 to have a replacement badge made. After the third temporary badge students will serve lunch detention and on the 5th time alternative in-school placement for the day.
Please continue to remind your child to put their badge in the same spot every day so that they have it with them every day. AS they walk out the door or get into the car ask them these two things… Do you have your ID? Is your Chromebook charged?
Student IDs help us know who should be present on our campus, they are also used to check in and out of the office, to scan for lunch, and the library.

Socktober
FCCLA is kicking off "SOCKTOBER" beginning this week. FACS and FCCLA students set a goal to collect 1000 items by October 25 for children living in foster care. Be a part of it by bringing NEW socks, underwear, jeans, shirts, pajamas or shoes to the FACS room 405 or using the big blue can just outside the main office at the front of the school. See Mrs. Wildman in room 405 for more information. With your help Cheyenne, we can reach our goal to support children living in foster care. Because you are amazing people, we know we can do this if we do it together!

Update COVID Exposure Protocols and Reminders
Required Quarantines to End Updated Oct 4
September 23 District Establishes Covid Positive Threshold Which Could Change Quarantine Procedures
It is extremely important to contact the school immediately when or if your child test positive or if you plan to quarantine your child based on family exposure. Time is important because contact tracing immediately begins once the school has been notified. Our communication to families includes an automated phone call as well as a detailed email regarding quarantine, etc.
Here are links to the district webpage regarding these updates and protocols-

Students who test positive or quarantine (by choice) are able to complete work through courses on Canvas. Students should log in each day to check the course agenda page and if they have questions they should reach out to their teachers. Scroll down to learn more about canvas. There are several links to assist.
Remember student COVID absences are for symptomatic students, diagnosed positive Covid isolations, and exposure quarantines. When students are too ill and cannot complete work from home they will be coded as a COVID absence. We want students to rest and recover and make up work when they feel better. Self-quarantines will need to be determined with our COVID administrator, Mr. Link Lowe.
We will keep you informed with the latest information regarding health and safety updates. Thank you to those families that have contacted us regarding their student and self-reported COVID exposures or positive test results. Our goal is to keep the education process moving forward for your student.

DROPPING OFF ITEMS
We ask that you check with your student before they walk out the door and make sure they are prepared for the day. This includes having their, Chromebook, ID and Lunch. If your student does forget their lunch or something they need for school, we have a cart in our front lobby with grade levels. This will be rolled back into the common area for the students to pick up their items during passing. Please drop off LUNCHES or SCHOOL SUPPLIES ONLY.
If you are dropping off an instrument or athletic equipment we will place this by the back office door for them to come up and get during their passing or after school. Please make arrangements with your student regarding these items and where to retrieve them.
Use the remind codes below to receive messages from our Parent Organization!
Student Chromebook Information
All students should CHARGE their Chromebooks each night. There are important updates that need to occur on these devices regularly and students will need to shut them down and restart.
All students received an email regarding their Annual Student Review. If they misplaced that email here are the instructions for completing the review before school starts.
Student Technology Protection Plan (STPP) - All families are strongly encouraged to purchase an STPP for their students to help protect them from large fees associated with accidental damage to the school-issued Chromebook. Search InTouch on the district website to purchase the 20-21 STPP. This plan goes into effect on 8/12.
