Taft Updates
September 3, 2022

Dear Families,
This past week we had Ms. Liz Wolfe visit our classrooms. She got to see Taft students engaged in learning. Students working collaboratively in creating classroom norms to working in partners and having conversations about specific topics. It was great to see our students so engaged in learning and happy to be in school.
If you have concerns or questions about your child, we encourage you to make an appointment with the teacher so that you can share concerns or ask questions. Each teacher sends out information through text apps and hopefully you have all been able to connect with them through the Remind App for lower grades.
Thank you to all the families who continue to drop off students safely on 10th Ave.
Just a quick reminder that the drop off zone has been working much better this year as many families are able to pull up and stop to drop off their children, as well as pick up. We continue to have families park in the middle of the street on the left side of Bay and drop students off, this is not a safe manner to drop students off as they will need to walk to the cross walk to cross safely across the street. We also need to remind everyone that a U-Turn is illegal on 10th Ave and we continue to remind families to please not make a U-Turn.
DOG FREE ZONE
All schools are dog free zones so please do not bring your dog onto campus or when dropping off or picking up students. We understand that your pet is part of your family, but with many children coming onto campus and leaving campus it is important that we continue to be a safe zone for all children. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR DOG AT HOME.
MOTOR BIKE, BIKE, SCOOTER FREE ZONE
All schools are also are WHEEL Free zones on campus. So if your child comes to school on a bike , scooter, small motorized vehicle , please note that while on campus these items are not allowed to be used, they must be walked. For students who may ride their bike to school we do have an enclosed area for bikes near the 400 building.
