The EB Expo
By Jake E
The Eb Expo is a large site set up in Olympic park. Inside the building are all different stands for different pieces of the latest technology. For example one stand might have a gaming console which has not been released yet, there could also be the latest and best headphones from TurtleBeach or just a recently released game, game accessory or game console. EB Expo is the biggest gaming expo in the whole of Australia.
On the 6th of October I travelled to the EB Games Expo with my Dad, Uncle, brother and two of my cousins in their car. We all woke up at 6:30 but it turned that it was actually 7:30 because it is now daylight savings. Anyway we woke up quickly ate breakfast, got dressed and got ready as quickly as we could so that we could get there on time. We left at 8:00 because the Expo started at 9:00.
Once we got there we walked into the area and put on our bands which acted as tickets for the ticket machine. We then walked inside and split up into two groups, I was with my Dad and one of my cousins while the other group was my Uncle, Brother and my other cousin. We then quickly decided were we would go. My group decided first to walk around and see what there was.
When we were walking around we noticed the Xbox one stand in the far corner of the area. We decided immediately to go straight to there. The Xbox stand was well set out with lots of Xbox's to be used. We played a tank game were you blow up rival tanks that were being controlled by the other people at the stand. We also played a racing game. After 20 minutes we decided to go see what else was there. For example we went and tested the latest TurtleBeaches and played on the razer blade pro. But another amazing gaming console we tested was the Oculus Rift. The Oculus Rift is a VR console which means Virtual Reality. The Oculus Rift is almost goggles that have big bulky end and you can't see out the other side. Inside the goggles were two screens that acted like a 3D cinema in the goggles. When you look to the left it shows you the left and when you look up or down it moves up or down with you. The Oculus Rift is great but can give you head ache after a while.
We then decided to wait in a long line to get a chance to play the PlayStation 4. The wait was about 1 hour and 20 minutes long but the result of waiting was worth it. On the PS 4 we played Assassin's Creed 4, Octodad and another game called Knack. They were all great games and we spent about 10 minutes on each game. In Knack you are a giant robot which destroyes random guys. In Assassin's Creed 4 you are a pirate who is one of the greatest pirates of all time and finally Octodad. In Octodad you are a octopus who is trying to look normal. Octodad is one of the hardest games I've ever played. Then went back to walking around and playing at random stands. We played Battlefield 3 and I played Battlefield 4. We then went into the EB Megastore which is the biggest Eb Games store in the world ! I got TurtleBeach Headphones while we were there.
We then attempted to enter the Call of Duty: Ghosts stand but there was a guy at the entrance saying no under 15's allowed. I was really annoyed at that guy. After that we swapped adults so that I was with my Uncle and my brother was with my dad. But there was not much to do so we played some other games and then we decided to leave as we had played pretty much every stand that we were allowed to.
I had to admit that was an awesome day.
