NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 1 | 22 JULY 2022
Rebecca Clarke | Principal
Dear parent and caregivers,
It was lovely to see so many smiling, happy faces on Tuesday morning! As many have noticed, our groundsman, Mr Bright, was busy over the holidays removing overgrown garden beds and replacing the mulch. While it may look a bit bare at the moment, we have plans for these garden beds … stay tuned!
On Monday, staff participated in our Faith Formation Professional Learning Day. The day focussed on Prayer, the fact that prayer is at the heart of our faith traditions and how we can use prayer in our personal and professional lives. It was a lovely way to begin a busy term, encouraging everyone to be still and simply enjoy the reflective silence.
The Year 4 to 6 students and staff joined Father Peter, the St Anthony's Parishioners and the students from St Anthony’s School today for the beginning of term Mass. Mass was celebrated by Bishop Donald Sproxton. We also had the pleasure of welcoming Bishop Don to our school for a tour of the wonderful facilities we have and to meet our students.
Student Leadership is an important aspect of being in Year 6. While all our Year 6 students are leaders, they have chosen two students to be our 2022 School Captains. I would like to congratulate Ashton Charlesworth and Matilda Button-Sykes as they take on their roles for Semester Two.
As Covid-19 is still in our community, please ensure that you follow the correct protocols. While masks are not mandated, it is strongly encouraged that students and parents wear them if they cannot physical distance from others. Hand sanitising as you enter the school office or classroom is a necessity and must be adhered to. Additionally, if your child is unwell please keep them home and monitor them. Protecting our school community is our main objective.
Finally, please keep the Pye Family in your thoughts and prayers as they sadly lost their father and grandfather this week. Mr Pye was a familiar face around the school and will be deeply missed by all staff and students.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
