# Ms. Rollins 8th Grade Math

## Lessons for this Week

Monday- Solving Equations with Variables on Both Sides Notes

Tuesday- Solving Equations with Variables on Both Sides Activity

Wednesday- Distributive Property and Combining Like Terms Notes

Thursday- Multi-Step Equations Notes

Friday- Multi-Step Equations Activity

## Important Info

Please encourage your child to work on solving equations at home. This can be very difficult for some students. I am available for tutoring after school or during Focus time if your child needs any extra help.

It is very easy to sign up for Focus - just have your student talk to me about it during class or send me an email.

## What are we going to learn in Unit 2?

Throughout Unit 2 students will learn how to:
• write a one-variable equation with variables on both sides to represent a problem
• write a one-variable inequality with variables on both sides to represent a problem
• create a real-world problem given a one-variable equation with variables on both sides
• create a real-world problem given a one-variable inequality with variables on both sides
• model (write) and solve equations with variables on both sides to model mathematical and real-world problems.
