Something from Saldivar
Week of October 12th - 16th
Do something they will remember. Be innovative. Show them you care. Do not tolerate misbehaviors. - Ethan
We have so much to share with you from our trip to the Ron Clark Academy. Karla and I plan on sharing our experience with you in the upcoming weeks. There is however, one thing that I would like to share with you now because it continues to resonate in my heart. I met Ethan, a 6th grader, who articulated very clearly the things that made the biggest difference for him going from his previous school to RCA. I asked him, "What would you like to say to my teachers?" He responded, "Do something they (your students) will remember, be innovative, show them you care, and do not tolerate misbehaviors." He went on to share with me that he is always so excited to come to school because he never knows what to expect. His teachers are excited and very creative. He truly believes they care about him and they would do anything for their students.
I share this with you because for me this was an affirmation to the things we are trying to do at Golden Meadows. We are on the right track and continue to improve in all these areas. As a reflection… Are we doing it at the highest level possible? In all honesty, we always have room to improve and maximize. Lets never be content where we are, but eager to get to the next level.
