SacramentoPRAYS
Uniting people to pray in the Greater Sacramento Region.
Welcome to a New SacramentoPRAYS Era!
"If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you… These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full." John 15:7, 11
Abiding. Strong’s Dictionary defines "abiding" as "to stay at or with, to tarry still, still to abide, to continue, remain, to persevere, continue." In this context, the word is telling us that our very life begins with abiding - a deeply rooted, intimate, individual relationship with Jesus Christ. From this oneness with Christ there comes an incredible work of prayer!
For two years, we have had the pleasure of working together to heal, grow and reconcile intercessors and prayer leaders in their personal walks with the Lord Jesus Christ and one another. It has been an amazing time of seeing God work miracles in hearts, lives and ministries and knitting us together! Now it is time to move to the next phase of our commissioning: growing and mobilizing prayer in the Sacramento Region. This focus includes . . .
- continued strengthening of the those engaged in prayer
- equipping and mobilizing churches to pray more often and more effectively
- uniting churches together in regional prayer
- and growing prayer for our neighborhoods and our city.
Because you are reading this, we know that you believe that everything is a prayer opportunity. For instance, next weekend's Martin Luther King (MLK) Celebration and associated activities:
Friday, January 16 at 7pm, you can join Pastor Ted Rose and Shari Bonnard with the official Pre-MLK Prayer starting at 7 pm in the Capital Christian Center Choir Room. The evening's events will include praying over the City Wide MLK Celebration Choir and the Capital Christian Center sanctuary, asking the Lord to impact each and every one of the thousands who will be attending this event!
Saturday, January 17 at 8:30am, is the Season of Service kick off, an organized distribution of free tax service information to those living in the Oak Park area of Sacramento. It is also an incredible opportunity to pray incredible blessing over people as you walk the neighborhood!
Saturday, January 17, 9am – 6pm there is a Regional Sacred Assembly at the Rock of Roseville House of Prayer. Come pray for an hour or more with other area prayer leaders for the move of God in our region.
Sunday, January 18 at 5:30pm, Capital Christian Center will host the MLK Celebration service with Keynote Speaker Francis Chan. While MLK pre-service prayer is on Friday night for this event, feel free to arrive a little early and pray over the service, the ministries in the lobby and all of those attending. More prayer, more power, more praise to our Father in heaven!
Monday, January 19 at 8:30am, the MLK March, aka "the ultimate prayer walk," will start at Sacramento City College. Take full advantage of this beautiful opportunity to pray for those who are participating in the march, the onlookers, the neighborhoods that you walk through, our fair city, and the Capitol building where the march concludes! Sign up to serve in event listing at the end of this newsletter.
As we kick off this year with this weekend of events soaked in prayer, may we move with great joy into this new era of growing and mobilizing prayer throughout the region. It all starts with abiding in Christ today. Join us for both abiding and abounding in prayer in 2015.

Regional Sacred Assembly (January 17): 9a – 6p @Rock House of Prayer
Our nation is in the midst of great upheaval, governmental chaos, moral depravity, and economic collapse. God’s strategy for national crisis is for His people to gather together in a corporate dimension to fast and pray. We are in a Joel 2 moment… “Blow the trumpet, consecrate a fast, call a sacred assembly; and cry out to the Lord” (Joel 2:15-17). Now is the time to fast and pray.. asking God to send a great spiritual awakening. Childcare not provided. However you are welcome to bring your children as long as you help maintain an atmosphere of worship in the Prayer Room.
MLK Celebration (January 18:) 5:30pm-7:30pm, Capital Christian Center will host the MLK Celebration service with Keynote Speaker Francis Chan. The MLK Celebration unites people throughout the Sacramento area and invites them to celebrate—and be challenged by— Martin Luther King, Jr.’s vision of racial diversity, reconciliation, and harmony. http://sacprays.com/event/mlk-celebration-season-of-service-2015-kick-off/
