Dear D103 Families,
Building students’ social-emotional learning (SEL) skills is important for all District 103 students. As a part of the learning process, we will be asking our students in grades 3-8 to reflect on their own SEL mindsets via an online survey. The survey will be administered during the month of October and it should take no more than 20 minutes to complete. The survey asks students to self-reflect on their own grit (DW only), growth mindset (DW only), self-efficacy, self-management, social awareness, and emotional regulation.
Individual student responses can provide the school with insight into what skills the child self-identifies as strengths and others they would like to develop. The overall data helps us (the educators) identify priorities and provide targeted learning opportunities to address the SEL needs in our classrooms.
Per School Board Policy 7:15, if you would like your child to opt out of taking the survey, please complete one opt out form PER CHILD no later than Noon on Friday, September 29.
