April 2024
April fitness brings May fun!
As we reemerge from Spring break, students will have very busy P.E. classes! 5th & 6th grade students will begin their 2nd round of fitness testing for the year, 3rd & 4th will be practicing fitness tests and learning about effects of fitness on the body, and K-2 students will be reviewing all skills learned throughout the year! This is also a very busy time of year outside of P.E.! Field day is around the corner, in which students will participate in a variety of fun, high-energy, and active outdoor stations (RB: May 21st , PL: May 14th)! 6th grade students will also be participating in the annual Outdoor Ed stations! (RB: April 24th & 25th; PL: 22nd & 23rd)
Being prepared for P.E. class
It is vital that all of our Rockbrook and Prairie lane students wear tennis shoes to P.E. This allows them to move safely and more effectively when playing games and moving. If you are not sure what days your child has P.E., please double check with your child's classroom teacher. I have also been encouraging students to remember to switch to tennis shoes from their boots for P.E.
Physical activity opportunities in Omaha!
Since the main goal of PE class is to promote lifelong healthy habits, I will begin including physical activity opportunities within the Omaha area!
