Amendment #3
Logan King & Haley Fife
The Importance of the Quartering Acts
The Quartering Acts prevents the government from telling you that you have to house soldiers. It's important to the United States during the Civil Wars. It's also important because the government used to tell people they needed to keep soldiers in their house. Many people became agitated with this, and so this amendment was passed. Six of the original 13 states also adopted Constitutional provisions banning the housing of soldiers.
