ARRIVAL/DROP-OFF & DISMISSAL/PICK-UP PROCEDURES
STUDENT ARRIVAL/DROP OFF - See Map Below
AM Cohort Student Drop Off: 8:35 AM - 8:45 AM
PM Cohort Student Drop Off: 12:45 PM - 12:55 PM
No student entry prior to 8:35 a.m. (AM) or 12:45 p.m. (PM).
No parents/visitors/volunteers on campus unless a prior meeting has been arranged.
Parents must enter through the front office for health screening and to sign-in if a prior meeting has been arranged.
For students with transportation services, the buses will enter campus and stop in the Kindergarten Loop as they always have. Aides and teachers will meet students in specialized classes at the Kindergarten Loop and perform screening on the students before they enter the campus.
- Students will be entering and exiting through Grade Level assigned gates. Signs will be posted on those gates and staff will be monitoring them.
- Students will enter classrooms through the hallway doors nearest to the Front Loop and closest to the gates they enter upon arrival.
- During class time, they will use the hallway to access the restrooms and return to class by exiting the end of hallway door and walking around/outside to return to their classrooms.
- If a student needs to go to the health office, the teacher will call the health clerk/nurse and BES staff will go directly to the classroom to assess the student outside of the classroom before escorting the student safely to the proper room (health office or transition room).
All students (except those arriving by bus) will arrive at the Front Loop (off Harveston, in front of the office, main entry) or Back Gate (BG). The Back Gate opens to the back corner of the field where there is a walking entrance for students. ONLY students who are walking can enter through the Back Gate. There will be no arrival to the Kindergarten Loop for TK or Kindergarten students when we reopen.
At the front loop, specific entry gates will be assigned for each grade level, for students to enter. The gate students enter will be the gate closest to the classroom building where their classroom is located. All students are expected to enter through their Grade Level gate ONLY. Staff will be available to help escort/direct our youngest Pioneers to their classrooms.
X's will be taped on the ground to indicate where students stand if they are waiting in line to come in, before the gates have opened, six feet apart.
Parents will be asked to drop off by car, no parents will be allowed behind the gates at any time during arrival or dismissal.
Any parents/families who walk students to arrival will need to walk around the loop to the entrance point of the loop, nearest to where the Kindergarten students will enter. There will be a STOP sign posted to indicate the point where parents/families must say goodbye to students.
Special Education students who arrive by bus will arrive in the Kindergarten Loop and be escorted to their classrooms by BES staff.
BES ARRIVAL MAP
STUDENT DISMISSAL/PICK-UP - See Map Below
AM Cohort Dismissal: 11:15 AM
PM Cohort Dismissal: 3:25 PM
Students will dismiss from their classrooms through the outside classroom doors and follow the traffic patterns to exit the school through either the Back Gate or Front Loop.
Students will utilize the same Grade Level gate for dismissal as they did for arrival.
For students with transportation services, aides and teachers will accompany students to the Kindergarten Loop to board the bus.
Students who leave through the Back Gate will be directed to exit through the Back Gate and parents/family members can meet them in the courtyard area outside of the gate. Please maintain six feet of social distancing in the courtyard area as you wait for students.
Students who are walking but leaving through the Front Loop will be directed to one of two possible Parent Waiting Areas to meet parents/family members. Please designate a meeting spot, in one of these two areas, with your child so he/she knows where to go to meet you at dismissal time. Parents/family members, please remain in the Parent Waiting Areas and maintain social distancing at all times to protect all students, staff, and yourselves. Waiting Areas are designated on the map below.
Students who are being picked up by car will be waiting in line at designated locations around the Front Loop as indicated in the map below. Each student line will be marked with a Grade Level flag. Parents, please drive forward through the loop and continue to move forward until all cars have stopped. Students will be looking for you and will begin walking down the yellow line once they see your car. Do NOT stop at your child's grade level flag to pick them up. Continue to pull forward so we can keep the flow of traffic moving and students will get in your car after the crosswalk as they always have when the line has moved all the way up. Parents, please remain in your car at ALL times. We will have staff available to assist students getting into cars, as needed.
Special Education students who dismiss by bus will walk the exterior traffic pattern to exit the gate off the Kinder Loop and access the busses.

No parents on campus unless a prior meeting has been arranged.
If meeting has been pre arranged, parents must enter through the front office for health screening and to sign-in.
Unfortunately at this time, no parent volunteers will be allowed on campus.
CHILDCARE
Child care hubs will be available, with limited space, at most elementary school campuses. The AM/PM schedule will coincide with your child's AM/PM learning schedule and will be available during the students’ asynchronous learning time. Child care hub hours of operation will be 8:15 am to 3:55 pm. To be considered for enrollment, parents must submit the electronic form below.
As many families' learning model confirmations may be predicated on securing childcare, TVUSD's Childcare Department will confirm your child care enrollment status, based on space availability, by Thursday, February 25, to allow families to complete the learning confirmation survey by Friday, February 26.
If you are interested in childcare as part of your child's on-campus learning model, please complete the registration form below as soon as possible. If a program at one site reaches capacity for some reason, we will make every effort to contact the parent needing childcare to discuss options at other sites that may be available.
The application window closes on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, to ensure notifications by Thursday, February 25.
Please CLICK HERE to APPLY for Childcare.
Questions should be directed to TVUSD's Childcare Department. Please email khaupt1@tvusd.us.
