Washington County Fair Board Approves Livestock Auction
Originally shared March 30, 2018.
At its March 20th meeting, the Washington County Fair Board approved the formation of a committee to launch a first annual auction of large animal exhibits in conjunction with the 2018 Washington County Fair. The inaugural auction is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 1st with sale animals scheduled to be on display in the Two Rivers Bank arena with the time yet to be determined.
Jeff Warren and Rob Vogt agreed to identify members of the initial committee with committee members representing each exhibit category that will be eligible to sell at the auction. Covered exhibit categories for 2018 will include Market Beef, Market Hogs, Market Sheep and Market Meat Goats. While many details of the auction are yet to be formalized it is anticipated that each exhibitor will be allowed one animal to the sale from the covered categories. Their sale entry will have to be an animal that they exhibited at the 2018 Washington County Fair and it will need to be available for immediate transfer. (i.e. It’s show career is over.)
The livestock auction is not a function of the Nebraska Extension faculty/staff or the Washington County 4-H Council. However, we are passing along the information about the auction and will provide additional details as they become available from the auction committee. For more information, contact auction chair, Jeff Warren at 402-639-5256 or jwarren@aptask.com.

Shop 4-H Affiliate Marketing Program
Shop 4-H has recently implemented an affiliate marketing program to reward LGU’s for referring customers to Shop 4-H. This program is exclusively forLGU’s invested in 4-H Grows and provides an opportunity for local revenue generation from referrals to Shop 4-H. 5% of payments on purchases made within 30 days of the link click will go directly back to the LGU.
How Does It Work?
Nebraska 4-H has a unique referral code which is included in any links to Shop4-H.org on our websites (4h.unl.edu, 4hcurriculum.unl.edu). When someone clicks on a link to go to Shop4-H.org, that referral code tells Shop 4-H that the individual was referred by Nebraska 4-H. Then, 5% of any purchases that particular customer makes within 30 days of clicking on that link is sent back to Nebraska 4-H.
What Can You Do?
Replace any links to Shop 4-H on your county website with the URL below. Also anytime you plan on making a purchase on Shop 4-H, use that link or any link to Shop4-H.org on 4h.unl.edu or 4hcurriculum.unl.edu.
