Friday, 10/23: New-and-Improved Remote Learning Day Plan!
Just a reminder that tomorrow (Friday, 10/23) is another Remote Learning Day. We have heard the feedback and desire for the remaining Friday Remote Learning activities to be more closely connected to core academics, and have adjusted accordingly. Hopefully, students in all grade levels will get into the Halloween spirit with some bat-themed and other fun activities!
Here are a few of the highlights you'll find in with tomorrow's Remote Learning:
Grade-level specific themed activities in reading, writing and math
Short overview videos that explain each activity to allow for student independence
Organizers to help students plan their day and structure their learning
Continued robust Enrichment activities that allow for further exploration in core content areas
Special subjects videos and activities to break up the day academically
Grade level specific packets that will come home with students today
This agenda has been shared directly with students via Google Classroom (2-5) or Seesaw (K-1) As always, please do what works best for your family, but we do hope that students enjoy these fun activities!

Friday, 10/30: Halloween Parade Details
A few important notes:
- COSTUMES: students will wear their costumes to school and throughout their day on Friday, 10/30. Costumes need to be independent (ie kids need to be able to wear/assemble them without teacher assistance) and appropriate for school. No weapons are allowed (including guns, swords, axes, etc.) and costumes should not be excessively scary or gory. Costumes with skin-tight masks are not allowed; students must wear a visible safety face mask, and may not use any mask that obscures or covers their safety mask.
- SAFETY MASKS: ALL students and parade viewers MUST wear visible, unobscured safety face masks at all times throughout the duration of the parade.
- PARADE VIEWING: All viewers (parents/families) will watch the parade from BEHIND the school; the parade route will travel from the garden down to Clausen and back; please see parade route map, below. The front of the school will be CLOSED; no viewing/parking will be allowed in the front of the school. All families will need to stand on the marked Xs along the route, with one family group per X. This allows us to establish and maintain social distance throughout the parade.
- RAIN CANCELLATION: As there is no safe way to conduct the parade in the rain, if the weather is inclement the parade will be CANCELLED. Students will still wear costumes to school, and teachers will have a fun back-up plan to enjoy the day inside their classrooms with their classes.
You can expect to see all of these details again next Thursday (and Friday AM!) in anticipation of the parade; all of us banding together to follow these guidelines will allow for a safe, fun Halloween celebration for all!
