SHS Weekly Update

February 5, 2022

Principal's Message

I hope that everyone was safe and sound during the storm we had. It seems that winter is back in Ohio after a few fairly easy years. I wouldn't mind if that was the end of the snow this year but I suspect that isn't the case.

We had our virtual conferences on Wednesday. We are having our live conferences on Thursday 2/10. I have attached information on Thursday's conferences.

Thursday, February 10, 2022

  • Conferences will only be conducted in-person.

  • There is NO sign up sheet associated with this conference night. However, if you can use this Sheet to notify your student(s) teachers that you do plan on attending. This will help our teachers prepare.

  • In-person Parent-Teacher Conferences will run from 3:15 pm to 6:15 pm.

  • Please enter and exit through the Main Entrance.

  • We will not be conducting an “Arena” format for the conference. Our teachers will be conducting in-person conferences from their designated classroom. At the Main Entrance of the building you may obtain a map of where all our teachers will be stationed for the duration of the evening.

ACT - March 1st, 2022

Change your life! Gain admission to the college of your dreams

& obtain more scholarship money. Learn how to score higher on the ACT!

Premium, Cost-Effective ACT Preparation

Thursday, February 24, 2022, 7:45 a.m. to 2:25 p.m.

Strongsville High School

Almost every Ohio high school student now takes the ACT. Securing a good score can assure graduation, qualify students for CCP opportunities, &, perhaps most importantly, help students gain admission to college & obtain essential financial aid.

Our six-hour preparation seminar helps demystify the ACT by explaining

--the test’s structure,

--the academic content covered on it, &

--testing & time management strategies students can employ to maximize their performance.

Students learn specific, tangible strategies to answer more questions correctly, how to decipher questions designed to thwart their performance, & specific academic content that is regularly tested on the ACT.

Each participant gets

--six hours of live, engaging, interactive instruction,

--a comprehensive, 400-page, reference workbook,

--a guided outline of ACT test-taking strategies,

--a recommended five-week study guide,

--online access to over 1000 additional practice test questions, &

--free, live, phone-in pre-test tutoring.

Next Level Prep is Ohio’s leader in ACT preparation. We currently work with over 100 Ohio high schools & thousands of students (urban, suburban, & small town/rural) each year around the state. Our typical students see a 2.0 composite point increase on the ACT after taking our seminar.

Students emerge justifiably confident. —with decidedly less anxiety—about their prospects on the test.]

“The lessons were AMAZING. You were very informative & extremely engaging. You kept the seminar interesting & were very inclusive.” --JB, Centennial HS

“The time management strategies were really helpful.”

--PB, Copley HS
