Morality Critique

Janie]: "You mean he’s liable tuh die, doctah?"

[Doctor Simmons]: "’Sho is. But de worst thing is he’s liable tuh suffer somethin’ awful befo’ he goes." (19.96-97)

Both of Janie's husband died preventable deaths. They refused to seek medical treatment. They were too proud and both had too much pride to seek help so not only do they die suffering deaths, they leave their wife to suffer as well.

The critique choice I chose was morality critique and this book had a lot of morality styles. Such as pride, judgment, hope, despair, fear, and joy. These are feelings but can also explain people's personalities and the morals they do and/or do not have.
