Fall Festival - 10th Anniversary Celebration - Saturday, November 2
Staff will earn Flex Time for participation. The proceeds will be used to support each grade levels field trips. Please be sure we have strong participation from each grade level. Encore, please plan on supporting, too, if you can - for every dollar that is saved via this money, it is one less that is taken out of school money that can go to others thing.
If you haven't done so yet, please let April know who your grade level rep on the planning committee will be.
Each grade level/encore has also agreed to put together a basket for the silent auction. If you have any questions, please see your grade level representative on the planning committee or April Wingler
Hometown Heroes Luncheon! Taken from Ms. Hammond's Email
Each Fall we invite our local Hometown Heroes (Police, Fire Department, and EMT) to join our students and staff for lunch at Hickory Ridge Middle. This has become a meaningful event for our Maverick Community! However, it has also become more of an undertaking than one person can handle.
This year the event will take place on Wednesday, October 23rd from 11:15 – 1:30 in the Media Center.
Please see this form for ways you can help with the event!

Staff Shout-Outs
Please remember to submit names and info. by each Thursday for the following week.
Shout-out to Mrs. Locklear for winning $250 in books for her classroom. She applied for this grant along with thousands of other teachers and was one of the select few to get chosen. As Mrs. Wingler put it, "She’s always looking for ways to help her students and better her classroom. I see that as a friend, teacher, and a mother one of her former students!"
Shout-out to Courtney, Bill, Stephen, Darren and Laura for their tremendous efforts in planning and executing our PD session this past Friday - what a team!
Please let me know if you would like to include any shout-outs.
Maverick of the Month
This is our peer-to-peer staff recognition for those who are new to us.
