What is Biotechnology?
Biotechnology is the ability to produce an increased amount of agricultural products to sustain life. Biotechnology is the blending of biology and technology in order to bring better processes to humankind.
Role of DNA in Biotechnology
Every living thing contains DNA. DNA allow scientists to detect genetic disorders, produce DNA fingerprints, create organisms, and so much more. Scientist are able to do so much more with modern biotechnology and can find more information and important research using DNA. Human and other genes are put into bacteria to create a diagnosis. Biotechnology involves putting genes in viruses or bacteria.
How is biotechnology used in DNA testing?
How is Biotechnology used in health industry in making medicines like penicillin and insulin?
How is biotechnology used in agriculture?
How is biotechnology used in environmental clean up?
What are the potential negative impacts of biotechnology?
New technology brings with it both benefits and costs. The more powerful the technology is, the more exacting the price we will be forced to pay. It may also present new threats to human health."It certainly challenges many human values and beliefs." In genetic engineering there are many possibilities that these genes may combine with other genes.
Biochemist
Biochemist are scientist trained in biochemistry. Biochemists study chemical processes and chemical transformations in living organisms. Some biochemists study DNAs, proteins and cell parts. Biochemist also study the effects of products as in food additives and medicines. The most common industry role is the development of biochemical products and processes, but they mostly focus on improving the qualities of lives.
