Legislative ACTION ALERT: Our Students Need Your Help

They need to know that Oregonians VALUE and DEMAND a high-quality public education system for their kids. And given the extent of the problem, we at the Beaverton School District are taking the extraordinary step of asking for your help. Read more…

WE Collaborate: BSD Facilities Development Team
In the fall of 2017, the Beaverton School District will welcome students into three brand new schools; Sato Elementary School, Vose Elementary School and Mountainside High School. Building three schools simultaneously is no easy task. It takes a great deal of collaboration. At the heart of that collaboration is the BSD Facilities Development Department.
Facilities Development is implementing the $680 million dollar bond program. "Collaboration in our department started in 2012, well before the bond was passed," says Sheri Stanley, Administrator for Facilities Development. It included work with various departments, assessing the needs of the District, a committee of community members and students and the creation of Educational Specifications. Read more…

Safe Routes to School
Bike to School Day was May 10! Several schools celebrated in their own way and are continuing to celebrate throughout May.
It’s always better to walk and bike with friends. It's a ton of fun, easy to do and helps us all get to school safely and on time!
Maybe a Walking School Bus is right for your school?
It’s a bus without the bus! A Walking School Bus is a group of students with adult leaders that walk along an established route together, collecting more students as they go. Walking School Buses can operate daily, once a week or month or just on certain days. Choose the model that’s right for you and your community. And start!
Check out how Sexton Mountain’s program works, or ask Lynne Mutrie, 503-329-6469 lynne_mutrie@beaverton.k12.or.us for help.
