ROSARYVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
GREETINGS FROM PRINCIPAL EDWARDS
August 11, 2020
Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),
Welcome to the opening of the 2020-2021 school year where, “Virtually, All Things Are Possible!” As we embark upon a year of historic and exciting changes, I am humbled and honored to continue serving as the principal of Rosaryville Elementary School (RES). Our Rosaryville staff is excited to provide rigorous and engaging instruction that will foster meaningful connectivity between home and school. Please join us in actualizing our school vision to build a community of excellence where students exceed proficiency standards while gaining the knowledge, skills, and character traits that lead to college and career readiness.
Students attending Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) will participate in distance learning from August 31, 2020 until January 29, 2021. By December 1, 2020, PGCPS Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Monica Goldson, will reassess and communicate final plans for how instruction will be delivered during the second half of the school year. Additional information regarding the PGCPS reopening plan is available on www1.pgcps.org.
As we tackle reimagining school and creating a new normal for our scholars, please know that the RES staff is committed and excited to partner with you on this journey. Please review the attached announcements in order to obtain critical information regarding school opening.
Kindest Regards,
Rashida Edwards, M.T., M.Ed.

We have placed an order for our students and are awaiting delivery. If your child is currently utilizing a personal device in the home, we ask that they continue to do so until our order is received. We anticipate that additional devices will be available by September 21, 2020. Once received, you will be notified and a date and time will be scheduled for you to pick up a device. Your understanding is appreciated.

In previous years, RES communicated teacher assignments to families several weeks prior to the opening of school. However, due to various factors (virtual registration/limited building access/preparing for hybrid model scheduling) this information will not be available as early.
