5th Grade Celebration!
With the end of the year fast approaching, the 5th Grade party planning committee is working hard to make sure our kids have an awesome send off into middle school. We have booked the River Chase YMCA for the festivities. The expenses for the facility are going to take a pretty large chunk out of the party budget and we were hoping to have some fun activities at the facility for the kids. We tossed around fundraising but first thought we would give you all the opportunity to donate to the cause. Attached is the PTP payment information that would allow you to directly donate to the party fund. No donation is too small!
Thanks in advance for your help and hopefully we can pull off a party they will never forget!

New K-5 social and emotional screeners for 2022-23
In the fall, Lindbergh Schools administered a universal social-emotional learning (SEL) screening survey to all elementary school students. This March, we will administer the 2nd and final screening survey for the 22-23 school year.
The district is introducing new SEL screening tools for the 2022-23 school year that will serve two purposes:
They will help the district to evaluate the effectiveness of district-level mental health and social and emotional programming.
They will identify areas of strengths and needs for individual students in grades K-5.
SEL screening is not new to Lindbergh. In previous years, the district has administered anonymous surveys that provided administrators with an overall view of student experiences within our schools. With this new screening tool, parents will have access to individual students' results, and it will also equip teachers to better identify students who may be in need of additional support in the areas of academic, emotional, and social skills.
Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screening (SAEBRS)
There are two components to the K-5 SAEBRS tool:
Teacher observation risk-rating scale (referred to as SAEBRS)
Student-rater screening tool (referred to as mySAEBRS).
SAEBRS is a 19-item rating scale completed by the classroom teacher and based on teacher observations. It is used to help monitor student strengths and areas of concern. This will be completed by all teachers in grades K-5.
mySAEBRS is a 20-item student-rater screening tool. Students respond to computer-based questions aligned to social, academic, and emotional behaviors. This will be administered only in grades 3-5.
Both SAEBRS and mySAEBRS screen for strengths and areas of concern aligned to the following domains:
Social Development: Students’ ability to understand social norms, empathize, and understand the perspectives of others.
Academic Development: Skills necessary for students to be prepared for, participate in and benefit from academic instruction.
Emotional Development: Students’ ability to regulate internal states, adapt to change and respond to stressful or challenging events.
This document includes sample screening questions on the mySAEBRS and SAEBRs screening tools.
For more information regarding the importance of SEL screening and how to opt out of SEL screening, click here. If you completed an opt out form in the fall, you will not need to complete one for the spring. If you are new to the district, the opt-out form is open until February 24th.

Career and Technical Education Perceptions Survey
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Office of College and Career Readiness is seeking information from community members about general perceptions of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. CTE programs in Missouri schools encompass a variety of educational programs and pathways, including programs in Agriculture; Business and Marketing; Health Sciences; Family and Consumer Sciences; Skilled Technical Sciences (e.g. Automotive Repair, Collision Repair Computer Sciences, Construction, Law Enforcement, Machining, and Welding); and Project Lead the Way (PLTW).
This information is being collected by the DESE’s CTE Advisory Council and will be used to help guide the group in their decision making processes. Responses will be kept confidential and will be aggregated with other responses to help the council better understand how students, parents, business leaders, and educators see CTE in Missouri.

If you are driving your child(ren) to school, please follow our parent drop off and pick up route. Please DO NOT park on Sunset Drive to pick up or drop off students. Thanks for help!
- Students should not arrive at school before 8:40
- Please practice caution and put cell phones away during student drop off and pick up
- Please put your car in park when students are loading and unloading into cars
- Please have students enter on the passenger side
- Parents/guardians please remain in your car
- When on Kennerly Road and waiting to enter the school's parking lot, please put on your hazard/flasher light to alert on coming drivers. Thanks.
Please be sure your child knows how they are getting home from school. I know teachers have reached out to confirm. Safety is our top priority and we want to make sure dismissal goes smoothly.
