What's a Shelfie?

Discover & check out a book outside of your normal reading zone "hidden in plain sight" in the LC's Collection, or inside OverDrive.

Challenge yourself to read it and snap a SHELFIE of yourself with the book!

Share the picture on Instagram and include the hashtags: #texhill and #shelfie

Each day or so there will be a new poetry challenge offered by the L-CAT programming team...stay tuned by listening to the announcements and checking the LC's door for what's in store!

Read an eBook on a NEXUS e-READER!

Did you know the LC now has Nexus e-Readers for checkout???

These devices are exclusively for downloading ebooks and audiobooks from OverDrive. The circulation period is 3 weeks---first come, first check out.

There is no technology parental permission form required; however, any loss or damage fees apply just as with lost or damaged books.

A student can check out up to 4 items from OverDrive at any given time...which means that a student could be reading 9 books at one time---5 print books from the LC and 4 digital books from OverDrive!

Come by the Blackout Poetry Station to create your own

DIY Blackout Poetry from newspapers, magazines, and old discarded books!

Sign & post them to the LC's Poetry Window Gallery for passersby to enjoy!

Tuesday 4/12: Make Your Own FIESTA MEDAL!

Come design and make a Fiesta Medal for Tex Hill or the Learning Commons!

Any completed medal is eligible for the LC's Fiesta Medal Contest!

BRING: a clean jar lid of any size (metal or plastic). You can also bring any ribbon, glitter, or other decorative items to use on your medal!
