Winter Professional Learning Update
There are so many awesome opportunities for you to learn and grow this winter and spring as you continue to work towards your goal! Check out some of the workshops, and sessions, and online opportunities that you can be a part of in PISD!
Teacher Externship Preview Meetings
This summer PISD is partnering with The Plano Mayor's Summer Internship Program & CapitalOne for year two of the PISD Teacher Externship Program. This program will provide unique professional learning opportunities for K-12 PISD teachers in collaboration with local partners in business and industry.
As an Extern, you will have access to learning that reaches beyond traditional classroom or workshop settings and engage in experiences that will enrich the classroom-to-career connections you make for your students. Working side-by-side with knowledgeable and skilled industry employees to form a partnership of shared expertise, teacher externships build meaningful community relationships and provide valuable insights for classroom and workplace application.
Externships are open to all PISD Teachers & Specialists with 3 or more years experience in PISD.

Artifacts and Evidence
In its optimum form, artifacts or evidence of professional learning should be a natural, integrated part of of your work and learning process rather than an excessive added demand. The pieces of evidence to be collected should be those which are natural to the professional development activities thus requiring you to “collect” rather than “create” evidence.
Many of the online courses will ask you to upload an artifact before awarding credit. Check out the link below for ideas of what this kind of "collecting evidence" could like like!
