Foodball 2020 got off to a great start Friday with a police-escorted vehicle procession through Aberdeen and Hoquiam. Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with this year's campaign. Our Aberdeen and Hoquiam students have teamed up because your help is needed more than ever.

It was storytime in Michelle Weiberg's preschool class a few days ago and a parent captured her preschooler's shock when it was revealed that the mouse in the story Scaredycrow is named Tiny.

Dept. of Health updates Fall Guidance for Schools

The state Department of Health has updated its guidance for schools and the new guidance changes from 5 to 2 the age when children should not wear masks. The updated guidance is provided below in PDF format. The mask guidance is on Page 9.

Next Meeting of the Board

The next meeting of the School Board is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, via webinar. You can find agenda materials and a link to join the meeting on the asd5 website prior to the meeting. Materials are often posted as early as Friday.


Written public comment is accepted until 3:30 p.m. the day of the meeting. Public comment should be submitted to schoolboard@asd5.org. Comments are shared with the board and become part of the online meeting record.

LifeTouch Yearbook and ID Pictures at AHS

From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 1-2, at Sam Benn Gym.

This is a socially distanced event. Masks are required on the AHS campus.

Students should enter via Sam Benn Gym and follow all instructions to maintain safety.

In particular, the district has been told that the PUD can help families cover the cost of increased Internet capacity for those who are working from home, and for students to ensure access . See the flyer below and the accompanying application. Don't hesitate to apply.
