Photography Club!
How It Works
What we will do:
Members of the SMS Photography Club will learn the essentials of operating their cameras. We'll learn about composition, aperture, depth of field, ISO and will work
on some fun projects like creating their own Cyanotypes and Bokeh filters. We will be challenging ourselves to create “art” around a particular topic, subject, or challenge between meetings. The images created will be viewed on computers as well as printed for critique on some occasions.
Requirements:
A DSLR or mirrorless camera (we are working on getting some cameras but at this time we do not have any to lend)
The cameras can be brought into the Library and left with Ms. Takacs in the morning so they are safe.
When We'll Meet:
After school from 3-4 on the following dates
March 6th
March 20th
April 3rd
April 24th
May 8th
May 22nd
June 5th
Students and Staff members welcome!

Book Speed Dating!
Sign up now for book speed dating! Simply have your students bring their favorite book, or a picture of the book if they can't get the physical book, and have them be ready to give an elevator pitch as to why someone else might be interested in reading it.
We're looking to give students an opportunity to hear what books others have read and encourage them to give other books a chance. We'd love to have students from different grades and teams have an opportunity to share their favorites with each other.
Let us know what works for you and we'll "hook you up" with a date!
Not only are we READING, we're also WEEDING!
It is important to know that thought and analysis goes into the decision to remove a book from the library, but it is necessary to weed in order to make sure that we have a useable collection. Once a book has been taken out of circulation it is offered to teachers for classroom libraries and then to students for their home libraries.
