Mountaineer Monthly
June 2022
The end of the school year is upon us, and with that comes lots of excitement and many celebrations. It is also a wonderful time for students to reflect on all that they have learned and accomplished this year.
Thank you to all of you for your continued support throughout this school year. It was not always easy with so many changes and protocols surrounding Covid. However, I choose to focus on moving forward and celebrating the many events that our children were able to participate in this year. Field trips, concerts, and picnics to name a few.
BES will continue to be a busy place this summer with our Summer Academy taking place from July 11th - August 18th. New security cameras will be installed on both the interior and exterior of the building. This is a much need improvement for our security.
Our Literacy Coach, Amy Glickman, has also organized a summer reading challenge to keep our students reading. Information will be coming home with students with their final report card this month. Please consider participating.
I wish you all a wonderful and safe summer. See you in September!
Sincerely,
Tracy Kent

Helping Hands would like to thank many for all of the donations and support this year. We provided over 50 winter coats to children, over 100 children received Christmas gifts and over 25 families were provided supplemental food through our weekend backpack program. Thank you for the opportunity to support our B.E.S. community.
First, Helping Hands would like to thank Mr. Shaw for the help, organization tools and hard work with the food pantry, Holiday Bears and overall organization of the Helping Hands operation. Thank you very much Mr. Shaw.
We would also like to thank the parents, grandparents, teachers and staff members who support Helping Hands through monetary donations, food, clothing and winter gear donations.
We also would like to thank the community for all of their support. Many thanks to the Berlin Methodist Church, Seventh Day Baptist Church, local food pantries, Berlin Family Dollar, Hewitt's Market, Stewarts, Taconic Plastics, DelSignore Paving, HMA Contracting Corp, Grafton Youth Commission and Greywacke Meadows.
