Principal's Paragraphs
Hello Belair Bulldogs!
February FLEW by! Will March come in like a lion or a lamb?
March is going to go by very quickly! With just 3 weeks of school before Spring Break, we've got to make the most of our time together!
Good attendance plays a big role in student success. When students arrive late, leave early, or miss days due to reasons other than illness, it can impact their learning. Our goal is an attendance rate of over 90% for all students. Our current attendance rate is 88.0% With that in mind, if your child has a fever, vomits, or has diarrhea, our district policy is that they are to stay home symptom-free without medicine for 24 hours. Help keep our students and teachers from getting sick!
Remember, school begins at 7:45! Students who arrive at 7:45 or after are considered tardy and need a parent to sign them in at the office. The doors to the gym open at 7:00! We would love all students to arrive by 7:35!
Last call for ordering the 2019-2020 Yearbook. The deadline to turn in the order form is Monday, March 2 No order form? No problem! Parents can also order online at https://inter-state.com/, Order Code: 43602B This year, the Yearbooks will be delivered to students BEFORE the last day of school to help celebrate the end of an awesome year!
Summer School enrollment forms were sent home this past week. Didn't get one? You can request another form your child's teacher, or pick one up at Student Led Conferences on March 31 and April 2 between 3:00-7:00.
Thank you for supporting our school!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Milhollin

Want to be a Watch D.O.G.S.?
If you are a father or father-figure, we want your help to make a positive impact. Consider joining the Watch D.O.G.S. team at Belair Elementary School.
What are Watch D.O.G.S.?
Watch D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) is a family and community engagement program. Goal of the program is to demonstrate a positive male role model for students and help educators in a local school.
What will it involve? Volunteering some of your time during the school year. Goal is to find an event or day to volunteer in the school year, but you are more than welcome to volunteer as much as you want. Examples could include:
Help with activities and registration at Belair STEM and Literacy night events.
Supervise/encourage students at the Ninja Warrior Belair PTA fundraiser at Capitol Cheer.
Help with Belair field days or award assemblies.
Pick a normal school day and volunteer for a half or full day. During the day, you may read books to students, help with educational activities, play at recess and P.E, eat lunch with your child/their class, assist with traffic flow and any other activities where you actively engage with students.
