MAP Testing
To best prepare your child for testing days:
- Be aware of the testing schedule.
- Be certain that your child has had adequate rest (this may mean getting them used to an earlier bed time before the week of testing).
- Be on time for school.
- Avoid scheduling appointments that can be done at a later date.
- Dress your child in layered clothing. This way, the child may add clothing to get warmer or remove some clothing to be cooler.
- Have a positive attitude.

Student Action Teams
Jay Threads
The Jay Threads student leadership team helps keep the clothing store up and running. Students help organize, hang, and fold clothes. Jay Threads is a FREE clothing store for Clever students and their families.
Recently, students from Jay Threads were given the opportunity to partner with a local school and participate in their fashion show. Students walked the runway in outfits they styled from Jay Threads.

CONFLICT VS. BULLYING
Counseling Corner
We know that mental health and suicide can be difficult topics for anyone to discuss. One way to begin the conversation is by asking about protective factors, the aspects of life that can help reduce the risk of suicide. This works with children of all ages and even into adulthood. We have found that time in the car can provide a great opportunity for these conversations.
"I know that you have been talking about personal safety and suicide at school this year. Who have you identified as your trusted adults if you are concerned about a friend's safety?"
Leader in Me
Clever is a Leader in Me school. Leader in Me is a focus based off of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Each month 3-5 will focus on a specific habit. Students can receive LEADERSLIPS, which highlight when a student is showcasing leadership skills.

Personal Electronic Devices (PED'S)
Personal electronic devices (PEDs) are defined as any cell phones, radios, tape/cd players, MP3/iPods players, laptops, portable video games, etc. The inappropriate use of PEDs or other disruptive devices in school poses increasing risk of disruptions, bullying, criminal activity, and academic dishonesty.
The Clever R-V board of education prohibits the use of PEDs during instructional time from 7:55 am to 3:40 pm on any day that school is in session. This includes the use of restrooms, water breaks, and during a class period.
