Update from Sugar Land MS - September 30, 2019
Weekly Update - September 30, 2019
Titan Parents,
We hope that you and your family had an enjoyable three-day weekend. This week is our first five-day week in a while. Hopefully you received the message (email and phone call) sent out Friday morning regarding the traffic changes occurring on Seventh Street, which start on Monday. If not, you may read it by visiting this Traffic Alert web page on our campus website.
To encourage school spirit in October, we invite students to participate in our month-long #Rocktober celebration. Each day has an opportunity to show school spirit. In the calendar section below, the area in red tells you what the opportunity is that day. The SLMS faculty and staff are taking the lead, but we want students to participate, as well. Of course, dress code remains in place. If the Texans win today, then everyone is encouraged to wear Texans gear on Monday, just ahead of #Rocktober.
Please also support our PTO this week at their first Spirit Night. It is Tuesday, October 1, at Willie's Ice House.
If your child is an identified GT (Gifted and Talented) student, we need them to stay after school this Thursday, October 3, in order to participate in a goal-setting exercise with our Champion of Gifted Services, Mrs. Moid and our GT counselor, Mrs. Seright. They may ride the 5:15 bus, if needed. Students will come home with some information to go over with parents, and it will need to be returned to school. Goal-setting for GT students is new.
Parents of 8th grade students should check out the item in this newsletter related to High School Academies. FBISD has many opportunities for students, and it's already time to start thinking about high school!
Have a great week, and note that Friday, October 11, is a student holiday. Please follow us on Twitter at @SLMSTitans, and keep an eye on our campus website, as well.
