CFHS Charge Up!
February 18, 2024
A MESSAGE FROM BRIAN FORSHEE, CFHS PRINCIPAL
Monday is a student holiday, so we will see you on Tuesday. The 4th six-weeks ended last Friday, and report cards will be available online in Skyward Family Access on February 23. Please take a few minutes and complete our annual campus climate survey. All students, staff, and parents will have an opportunity to give their input on Fulshear High School and LCISD. Feedback on where we can improve and what we do well!
(Takes approximately 10 mins - Please check your email from Insight K-12.)
Swim and Dive compete at State Competition this Friday and Saturday.
CFHS Boys basketball team made the playoffs! They will play Sterling High School, Tuesday at Barnet Stadium.
Good luck to all who compete this week.
Don't forget the expectations for the second semester, they're the SAME rules!
Dress code, ID, and phone rules start when you enter the building.
Don't forget that hoodies must be down inside the building ALL day.
- Phones/AirPods/headphones should not be visible in the HALLWAYS from 8:25-3:50 daily! This INCLUDES between classes. Please put them in your backpack, or they will be taken up. There is no need to argue or get upset when that happens because you have been given plenty of time to learn this.

LCISD Annual Campus Climate Survey Open Feb 13 - March 1
Every family has a voice in Lamar CISD’s ongoing pursuit of educational excellence, and we are seeking your feedback about the school your student(s) attends during the Annual Campus Climate Survey. The survey will be emailed to all families on Tuesday, February 13 and will remain open until Friday, March 1.
We encourage parents/guardians to respond to the survey using the K12 Insight email or by visiting the campus website home page. There will be questions about critical school issues such as academic preparation, student support, family engagement, and more.
Families with students in more than one school may submit their feedback in a couple of ways: individually on the campus website home page or there will be a link in the thank you message to submit a response for another student after the first survey response.
Please know that your feedback is confidential, reports will not identify individuals. No one in the District will know whether you have participated unless you identify yourself in the space for open-ended comments.
After the survey closes, we will report the findings on the Lamar CISD website. Thank you for your feedback.
Superintendent for the Day
Lamar CISD Families will have an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for LEAF’s annual “Superintendent of the Day” experience until Saturday, March 2! Enter your Lamar CISD student for a chance to be named the “Superintendent of Day” for the fastest growing district in the state of Texas! That's right...Dr. Nivens will be handing over his keys and calendar to one lucky winner. With this once-in-a-lifetime experience, one lucky student will get to see firsthand how business is handled in Lamar CISD, meet with various departments in the district and maybe make a decision or two!
To qualify, the student must be a current Lamar CISD student to win. A winner will be selected by the system. The winning entry purchaser will be notified if their raffle ticket is selected.
Ticket sales will support the mission of the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation, to equip, enrich, and empower the students and staff of Lamar CISD. Purchase a ticket today to help support more enrichment opportunities and resources for students and staff across our district.
Purchase a ticket here: https://bit.ly/3OC6gNE. For questions, contact leaf@lcisd.org.

Scholarships
LCISD has recently purchased a subscription to E-Scholarships. Students can access the site by going to ClassLink and looking for the app that says College Guidance. Students will not need a password to access the site via ClassLink.
Students can also access the site by going to https://collegeguidanceconsultants.com/login/. Students can stop by Room 1500 for the username and password or ask their English teacher for it.
Changes to the Service Cord Guidelines – Effective 12/16/2023
The LCISD Service Cord Guidelines have been updated and will go into effect on 12/16/23. Students must now attend a volunteer service function to receive hours. Moving forward, creating cards, decorations, or baked goods and donating those items to an organization will not be accepted as hours towards Service Cord. We are no longer accepting these types of hours due to organizations within our community having more volunteer opportunities since the COVID-19 pandemic stipulations have been lifted.
Updated Guidelines - https://www.lcisd.org/docs/default-source/departments/academics/gifted-talented/dual-credit/additional-resources/service-cord-guidelines--updated-12-16.pdf?sfvrsn=f5f5ece0_1
The next Service Cord deadline will be April 15th for seniors and May 1st for 9th – 11th graders. Students are not required to participate in the Service Cord.
Spring AP Exam Registration
If your student is registered for a spring semester AP class, registration is open for them to decide if they plan to take the AP exam and pay for the exams using Total Registration. Students who are enrolled in a yearlong AP class can still register and pay for their AP exam with a late fee. The final day to register for an AP exam will be 3/6.
