Physical Changes

A change that changes the appearance of the object but doesn't change it to another substance.

Examples-

Chopping wood.

Molding clay.

Ripping a piece of paper.

Chemical Change

A change that completely changes the appearance of an object and changes it to another substance.

Examples-

Burning paper and wood.

Compounds broken down.

Objects rusting.

There are 5 indicators you can observe to see if a chemical change is happening which are color,temperature,odor,precipitation and gas changes.

Physical properties

Characteristics that describe object. These characteristics need to be seen. If you need to test it, it is not a physical property.

Examples-

Volume.

Color

Shape.

Chemical properties

A characteristic that is observed when a substance interacts with another substance.

Examples-

Ability to burn

Ability to rust

Ability to tarnish
