Pinstack End of Year Party!

For those who have paid in advance we have our EOY Pinstack- Allen Social.

When: Friday, May 13, 6:00-8:00pm

Where: Pinstack Allen

635 N Central Expy, Allen, TX 75013


  • 6-8 Band students! Students may not bring non-band friends

  • Band siblings may attend if accompanied by their parents.

What To Wear: Scoggins T Shirt or Hoodie must be visible at all times.

Cost: $25 gets you the following:

  • 90 Minutes of Bowling

  • Laser Tag

  • Gravity Ropes

  • Rock Climbing Wall

  • 2 hours of UNLIMITED Non Prize Video Games

  • 30 Game Card Points

  • 1 Hour of UNLIMITED FOOD and Drink (We will tell you when the hour starts!)

All students MUST check out with their designated director prior to leaving the facility.


The party ends at 8:00 PM. Please help us oversee the safe retrieval of all students by arranging for prompt pick-up at this time. Only students with parents present at Pinstack will be allowed to remain at the venue after 8:00PM!

Spring Concert- May 17

Our final concert will be Tuesday, May 17. This will be combined with Emerson High School's Spring Concert as well. Please ensure your student is in attendance- it will count as a Major Grade!

Tentative Itinerary

Who? Beginning Band

Where: Emerson High School

Dress: Band T-Shirt and Jeans

Beginning Band

5:15-Auditorium Doors open

5:30-Seated on Stage for Warm Up -Do not play your instrument until instructed to do so.

6:30-Concert Begins

*All instrument cases should be left in parent vehicles with the exception of Tuba, Bassoon.

**All school owned instruments will need to be returned to school the next day on May 18.

EOY Major Test Grade/Band Placement Consideration

Brass & Woodwinds:

Students have been working to complete "The Grid" this school year. The Grid is a Major Scale Pass off system that is specific to each ensemble On May 13 students will turn in their Grid and it will count as a major grade.

Band Placements for 2022-2023

Students continuing with band next year will be placed in one of our 3 performing band based off of their scales performances. Consideration will also be made to their rehearsal and practice habits throughout this school year.

Please check in with your child to see their progress.

Students will turn in "The Grid" on May 13.


Percussionists will need to pass off both Major and “Green” Scales from selected keys. These scale pass offs will account for 50% of their band placement auditions and will be part of their final grade. Percussionists will have opportunities to pass off scales each week in class.

School-Owned Instrument Returns/Cleaning Expectations

Earlier Mrs. Brinkman sent an email to all school owned instruments families. We are needing students to have their instruments returned to us by Wednesday, May 18th. Prior to returning their instruments students must clean their instruments and complete the Instrument Cleaning Form that requires both their signature but also a parent confirmation. The buttons below include resources to help students know HOW to clean their instrument as well as the document needed to return with the instruments.



My student is continuing in band do I still need to clean and return?

Yes. Once inspected we will check back out to students so that they have an instrument over the summer

Is my student still expected to practice once turned in?

We will suspend practice log expectations for those with school instruments while we go through this process.

My students is going to Emerson High School next year, what do we do?

You will still turn in your instrument, and new instrument from EHS will be assigned prior to the last day of school. More info to come from Ms. Roberts at EHS.

Mark Your Calendar! Scoggins Back to School Band Camp

When: August 1-4 5:30-7pm(Band Hall doors open @ 5:15pm)

Where: Scoggins Middle School, Fine Arts Wing

Who: All incoming 7th and 8th Grade Band Students, Don’t forget to register online!

Cost: FREE with the option to purchase a Band Camp Tshirt for $20.

Why: To get a head start on the year, and reconnect with all our band friends!

FUN: We will end each camp session with a social. Be prepared for Food! Snowball fights and SNOW CONES!!
