From the Principal...Steve Morrill
I have set aside several times this year to meet with parents. This time is structured so that I can be available to speak with parents and answer any questions that might be presented. The first opportunity to get together will be on Monday, October 15th from 1:30-2:30 pm in the 7th/8th grade center main office conference room. Anyone interested in participating should stop in the main office at that time. I look forward to meeting with Thompson parents!
HOME ACCESS CENTER/STUDENT GRADES
As you are aware, a great tool for parents to use to monitor student progress is our Home Access Center. Having access to your student’s grades in this format is similar to being able to look at the grade book of your child’s teacher. You, as parents, are able to check on class attendance, homework assignments, projects, quizzes, tests, and more. If you need help accessing HAC, please call the main office.
Use caution when using HAC to collect your child’s data. Be aware that different subjects will record grades at different intervals. For example, a math teacher might be recording regular, consistent grades, where as a Language Arts teacher may be in the middle of a large writing assignment and will not have the daily information to record on a student’s progress. Teachers record grades using this system, just as they would their grade book. If you have any questions about a grade and/or assignment, please do not hesitate to call your child’s teacher.
Enjoy your weekend!
6th Grade Homework Lab
Hey 6th Graders! Do you have a missing assignment because you missed a class? Did you get behind on your homework? Need help reviewing for a quiz? OR Do you just want some time and space to organize your stuff?
Homework Lab is the place where you can do all of that every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 7:45-8:15 am in room 121 at the 6th grade center. Hope to see you soon!
The Thompson Middle School wrestling team will begin practicing on Wednesday, October 17th. Practices will be held in the 7th/8th Grade Center wrestling room which is located under the main gym. A daily schedule for the wrestling season is attached below.

Parent University - October 10, 2018
10/10/18 - 6:30-8:30 p.m.
St. Charles North High School Auditorium
The purpose of the film Angst is to raise awareness and have conversations about anxiety. It features candid interviews with kids who have struggled with anxiety, as well as discussions with mental health professionals. At the end of the film there will be a 30 minute panel discussion led by the D303 Counseling Team.
As part of our agreement with the production company, we are able to show the film in both middle schools and both high schools during the week of October 8th. This will provide parents and students an opportunity to have conversations at home about what they saw.
