Summer School Weekly Howl
May 30, 2019
Welcome to Summer School! Below you will find some helpful information for the start of Summer School:
Class Lists
On the top right drop-down menu in Infinite Campus, be sure to select "SS 19-20" and then on the left menu click on "roster".
In Infinite Campus you will also be able to see how your students plan to get home each day on the "transportation" tab. This is what you need to be referencing when contacting families and double-checking that it is correct. If you see that a student's family has incorrectly marked their transportation, please let Jill Kite in our front office know (kitej@parkhill.k12.mo.us).
Note: Summer School bus routes won't be set until May 31st. If you see a blank page when you click on the transportation tab, it is because the bus route hasn't been set yet. If the family marked Adventure Club, Car Rider, or Walker, you should see that in Infinite Campus.
Summer School Supplies Update
There will also be a few other miscellaneous totes such as a supply/paper tote and a gym tote. Please leave these totes in tact, and I will inventory them the morning of June 10th.
After you get your tote to your classroom, one of the first items to take care of is checking the inventory sheet located inside of it with the actual stock of items you have. Should you be missing something, please report the needed missing materials on this spreadsheet (Missing Materials Spreadsheet) so that our district office staff can have these items to you as quickly as possible.
Library Checkout and Open Times
Andrea Berka will be in charge of our library for the majority of Summer School. She has created a Summer School Library Schedule that you can access. You will see that for the first two days, we will have "rapid check out" times to ensure that each class has books in their hands right away. From there, use the tabs at the bottom to access the remainder of the weeks.
A few things to remember:
1. Since K and 1 are only checking out one book at a time, they will have two checkout times each week.
2. All classes are allotted a 30-minute checkout each week. Teachers should plan to remain in the library during their class checkout time, to assist students in book selections.
3. Please use the library schedule to sign up for additional silent reading time for your class as you see fit. You will remain with your class in the library during this time as well.
4. Remember, books checked out during summer school should not be sent home with students.
Mid-Continent Public Library Visits
Please take your class to Room 240 (right next to the library) during the following times for Storytime from the public library! You will need to stay with your class for the duration of your visit:
10:00-10:20 Kindergarten
10:20-10:40 2nd Grade
10:40-11:00 1st Grade
11:00-11:20 5th Grade
11:20-11:40 3rd Grade
