Minnewaska Memo
Minnewaska Area Elementary and Intermediate News
This Week
As long as we're on that topic of loving to be back, I do think if we would get to go back to our classrooms with kids, we wouldn't be taking extra adventures on field trips and such. So, if you haven't made arrangements at this point for canceling, please go ahead and do so. I know these aren't our favorite things to cancel, but there are some cool virtual experiences you can do online at the moment. Perhaps a scavenger hunt around the Smithsonian might be something fun you can check out.

Here's what we know. We have to provide kids with an education this year and this is our only option to do it. So, let's keep moving the best way we know how. Let's give kids the standards they need, not all of them, but just what they need. Let's connect with them and give them the support socially and emotionally that we can without being with them. Let's remind them how great they are and how they're learning to use Grit to get through tough things.
I know many of you may take comments personally. Please remember this is a tough time for all families. Maybe they've had a remarkably hard day, maybe they lost their job, maybe it's 30 degrees with 30 mile and hour wind and their kids are climbing the walls (anyone else feel this pain today???). Let's find our thick skin, not take comments personally and make sure our decisions based on what is best for KIDS! I promise you if you do that, you'll sleep better each night.
And friends, raise each other up. I know you're talking, texting and zooming regularly. It's time to be an extra good buddy! After all, we're all in this together!
