H2O Show and Internet Safety Day
Tomorrow we have two fun events - a virtual H2O Show and Internet Safety Day. In order to participate in the show, please register your child:
Registration can happen any time before the program begins. Once registered, participants can watch the Highlight Video and ask and answer questions to get excited for the program. Participants register with an email address ~ we do not save that information unless given permission, in which case it is only for EarthCapades, we never sell or share. Your students' privacy is very important to us and this Crowdcast livestream event is not open to the public.
We will begin the broadcast 5 minutes prior to your start time with a pre-show video and time for people to answer questions that we have asked in the “Ask A Question” tab. The program will last approximately 45 minutes from your start time. The replay of the assembly will be available at the same link for at least 30 days from the assembly date.
We will also be taking about internet safety in our morning announcements and posting some resources on our website and social media platforms.
Last week we had supply pick-ups that included class materials, library books, PE/Music kits and more. Unfortunately some of the items, like the drumming buckets, did not arrive in time for all groups. Please take a look at the images below to ensure your child have everything they need. We are still waiting on the K-1 rhythm sticks. Please also make sure your child has working dri-erase markers. We will have staff at school this Thursday from 9-3 if you need to stop by to pick up any items.
If your child is in 4th grade, you now have an Intel STEM kit ready to pick up as well. This kit will be used for a future lesson with Intel staff and teachers.

If you have any questions, comments or feedback, please do not hesitate to reach out: email@example.com.

February Focus: Active Engagement
Starting this week, we are going to be focused building-wide on active engagement. Active engagement includes:
- Listening - joining live meetings, watching recorded lessons
- Joining the conversation - turning on the camera to give visual feedback to peers/teachers, verbally sharing ideas and asking questions, typing ideas and questions into the chat feature, sharing ideas in breakout rooms with peers
- Completing work in Google Classroom - carefully reading directions and learning targets and turning in completed work, asking questions using the comment feature, emailing or asking the teacher for help, joining the teacher for small groups and/or office hours to continue learning
We would love your support at home in reviewing these active engagement actions and joining us in positively recognizing your child/children when you see them doing these.
We highlighted active engagement and had some fun with our students during our virtual assembly in January - let's just say the kids were engaged and smiling when they saw their teachers singing and dancing. You can view our assembly here.
