God Is Love
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life.” – John 3:16
John 3:16 is one of the most popular verses in the whole Bible.
This really is a great verse to know. It tells us Jesus’s whole purpose in just a few short words. Let’s learn what Jesus was saying.
“For God so loved the world…”
God really does love the world. The WHOLE world. The good, bad, rich, poor, young, old, sick, healthy, angry, and joyful. God loves us all. He loves those who love Him, and He loves those who hate Him.
Do you know why that is so important? It means you don’t have to earn God’s love. He already loves you, and there is absolutely nothing you could do that would change His love.
“…that He gave His only begotten Son,…”
God loved you so much that He gave up His own Son for you. God knew we needed a perfect sacrifice, and He knew His Son Jesus was the only one who be that sacrifice.
“…so that whoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life.”
With that perfect sacrifice we can live forever with God. He wants nothing more than for you to live with Him in heaven.
God loves YOU so much that He was willing to send His Son Jesus as YOUR sacrifice, so YOU could live in heaven with Him.

Church Construction Is Speeding Along
Many of you have been waiting patiently to see our new church and community center project take shape. We’re glad to tell you that things are progressing quickly, a big crew is working hard, and there are visible improvements on a daily basis.
The roofs of both buildings have been poured (most roofs here are made of cement) and so have the floors in the church sanctuary as well as the rest of the rooms throughout the complex. Interior walls are going up. Electrical and plumbing are being finalized, along with the large cistern that will store both rainwater and municipal water. The process of gradually moving out of our current rented space room by room is beginning.
Everyone is starting to feel that the end of the main construction is near. Even though there will be finishing details ongoing throughout the year, we hope to use the church and community center regularly for worship, aid programs and activities already within a few weeks.
Please pray for this project of building the Lord’s house, for the safety of the workers, and that all be done to God’s glory!
English worship on Sundays continues to draw a small group. Some Expats here do not speak Spanish but desire a place to seek the Lord. To accommodate them, we have gathered in the new church building for about 4 weeks now, each time in a different room (depending on which part has a dry cement floor)!
People of similar and different faith backgrounds are invited to express doubts, fears, joys about life and God, and then they and are reassured with the message of hope in Jesus for this life and the life to come. Acoustic guitar worship songs, pie, ice cream, coffee and snacks enhance the experience. Thank you to all who have given their gifts to support the new worship center!
